MY Definition of a social ride - When you get home after midnight, trip on the front step and wake the dog up. The crew - Natch, steve (debut), cgm, trouble, axle or skip (dave M.), Colorado dave, crash brothers and myself. Lb was busy in the front yard mapping out his mower route with his new GPS in hand - brew in other. Ride starts in the jungle, its wet and humid, like it should be in the jungle. Technical nemesis hills were everywhere. Lots of smearing, dabbing falling and bitching - oh and a few clean makes. "is all the riding here like this?" - quotes to live by. Out of the jungle - sing it axle!. Now up to the power lines and out on the blue (to more jungle). Some great technicalities and falls left and right. We headed out to the 60 ft cliff trail and trouble and steve stayed behind to guard the trail - be back in 20. Not a great time to ride the cliff as it was wet, slippery. Craig cleaned it and I dabbed once - I dont know about the rest, but im sure it was ridden with very little style and white trembling knuckles. U-turn (good movie). We headed back cimbing Heat Stroke hill then Back to trouble and steve, then heading home. Natch takes a classic spill on a gnarly rock downhill - front wheel skidding across a slippery root and sending him into a tree, where he and his bike were twisted and E-jected into the woods (I had front row seats - give it a 5.9). We lost Colorado dave for a while "Daaaaaave!!" not you axle we know your here. "anyone have a light?". Ok - natch finds him (its getting dark). And we take a nice dark technical ride to the power line escape route. Beers - then eli's for more beers, drinks, food, pretty respectable conversation (for us) and lots of NT. Talks of Moab after riding so many moabesque rocks! Good ride, decent showing - Bring me a bucket - PM
