Update 2008 - Took a spin up livermore road all the way up..  Ended up taking old skidder path to Flume Brook trail..  I was an interesting adventure but not recommended for most.  Start of skidder path was overgrown but rideable with some technical sections, rarely did you see your front wheel.  Flume trail had some techy rock sections but lots of hike a bike.  Not awefull hike a bike, but enough..

Description -    Waterville valley has some excellent riding but not that much lift accessible riding.  Many years back I rode the lift and hit all the trails and have to say it doesn't look like they have done a thing with the trail system.  The cascade Brook trails are awesome, technical, scenic, little bit of hike a bike..  Really cool to ride next to waterfalls, lots of roots beware..  Elephant rock trail is decent.  Norway rapids was very techy with some hike a bike and one stream crossing.

We skipped the lift this trip, pedaled up to the top via elephant rock trail and lower cascade trail.  Down cascade to Norway rapids (nice skinny at the entry to Norway rapids)..  Left on Livermore right on kettle trail NOT RECOMMENDED!  Moderate hike a bike on kettle followed by extreme hike a bike on the Scuar trail.

Kind of hard to get a good loop in pedaling..  Not quite worth the lift ticket for DH - (lift buys you 500 vertical).  Great place for family fun, lots of paths around town, singletrack worn into wide grassy xc ski trails.

See Greeley ponds review for another good ride in the area..
