The builders at Jiminy have outdone themselves, creating some beautiful new lines, re-routing some of the less desirable ones from last year, and turning Jiminy Peak into one fun filled DH destination.  They have a full service shop (rentals, sales and repairs) which actually has reasonable prices, considering the captive audience.  Lift tickets are also inexpensive, and you get a lot for your money.

As you get off the lift, take a left and follow the wide grassy trail until you see a small building (skip trail 20!!!).  Go past it to the right and either jump into the woods straight ahead for a steep and loose challenging section, or stay further right and take the loose shale down.  At the bottom of that, go straight ahead (cool drop), swing right and follow the s-track into the woods for a short section.  Take the second left (not the one directly across the fire road - its been re-routed) down to the pond and hit the plank jump.  From here, jump back into the woods and you've got two options.

Straight ahead has a super fun drop-off where the trail just kinda stops, you turn, and drop (completely roll-able).  You continue across the field back into the woods through a fun steep dirt section.  If you take a left at the second fire road, you can get to the new (yet-to-be-named) terrain park, but more on that later.  Continue straight down through the tight, twisty s-track, over the rocks and roots that this area is famous for.  Everywhere you look, there are rocks and things to pop off!  Keep an eye out for the small offshoots everywhere - they all go back to the same place - down - eventually.

Back to the last intersection, you could also go left, which brings you to another intersection (wow, there are a lot of trails here!).  Keeping right at this one brings you to a waaaaaay steep rocky roller (with a go-around to the right) and down to the top of the small lift.  From here, there are at least three more options.

If you instead went left, this goes to an awesome jump trail with a tough and long off-camber section.  This trail really makes the most of the vert, has some cool techy lines, and a lot (and I mean a LOT) of rocks to jump over and off of.  The only downside is it goes all the way down to the condos, and you have to pedal back up from the parking lot.  Its definitely worth the effort though, and you can stop by th car for a gatorade or something you'll probably need it by then).

Back up at the big rock roller, you get dropped off near the top of the small lift.  Continuing straight from the bottom of the roller (not going by the lift) brings you down one of the favorites form last year.  Fast, fun, tight turns that you can really flow through by pumping your arms a bit, get some speed, and hit the awesome diving board drop (also roll-able to the right).  This whole trail just flows well.

If you instead go over to where the lift is, head past it to the left and go in between the signs for a sweet natural drop with a transition landing right in front of the line for the alpine slide - be sure to listen for the cheers from the audience!  Straight ahead is another really fun flowy trail down with all kins of fun stuff to jump off of and twist through.  Keep an eye out for #9 which has super fun step downs to hit on the way through.

Yet another trail lies off to the right of the lift, but I didn't have enough time to take it ... next time.

So more on the terrain park:
Take that fire road and go right onto the field - straight ahead, you can't miss it.  They had just finished building it, so it needs a couple days of rain to set in so they can shape the lips, but what a great start.  Drop in to a huge left berm which sets you up perfectly for a big table top - take it as fast or slow as you want.  Berm right, another table, berm left to double, berm right to table, berm left to step up, berm right and out.  Short but sweet, and unfortunately dusty due to the dry weather.  From the bottom, if you go straight across the field instead of int the woods, there are a couple hip jumps off on the sides before you get to the bottom.

After all of this, there's still the other side of the mountain!  Going right off the main lift brings you to Jericho (steep!) and Wild Turkey (very challenging and with an awesome rock drop near the end - just DO IT) which go top-to-bottom down the mountain.  I'd recommend a couple runs down the left side first as a warm up.

All things considered, I think Jiminy has the best flowy DH trails around, and rates right up there with Diablo for fun.  Plus, its cheaper, closer (for me) and has better parking.
