| Directions - 91 south to exit 17, Wilbur
Cross Pkwy, (rt. 15 south) This changes names to Merrit Pkwy, (still rt 15
south) Take exit 49N onto rt 25 north Exit 9 is Daniels Farm Rd. Left at top
of ramp. First right, then, pull up e-brake and slide into commuter lot on
left. Description - A very narrow strip of land
between route 25 and the Pequannock? River is the riding area. Maybe
10 miles of trail in total. The trails are mainly single track with
some moderately rocky sections and lots of BIG steep drops, cliffs, etc... A spot called the picnic table is
really cool with rocks pilled up that you ride on before a nice 10' steep
rock.. You cant get lost here unless your name is captain Ron.
ACCESS - The local authorities
have asked me to inform the mountain biking public - yes that's you - of
potential mountain biking access problems in this area.. Although this
is NEWS to me, it seems some people have been riding off trail, launching 3
to 24 foot drops and occasionally landing on hikers and small dogs..
But seriously - I guess they have a problem with off trail riding, and it
may lead to the extinction of mountain biking, in this area.. So I
hope, in order to successfully keep everyone happy, that they mark trails
over every drop, steep roller and obstacle that is there and just mark it
with a couple black diamonds or skulls and crossbones.. If that
doesn't happen, I guess, try to stay on the trails..
