That's exit 11 of rte 2 actually (the can't get there from here exit) - gary called me because he wanted to do a quick 1 hr ride on friday at 3:00. So I took him on an 18 mile adventure and guess what it wasn't an hour. Parked at the rifle range, out on the abandoned highway, to the blue, gps in hand (but of course'), we took every left turn off the blue on the way out and found some sweeeet trails, nemesis climb, some good tech's and sections of rock. I showed off on the gas line and made it 2ft up a 200 ft climb (got soup). We hit a road and then scoured the pavement for blue trail marks which we found 5 min. later. Blue to case mtn. What a new trail at case for gary? YUP. Power lines down the white/tinte trail to the reservoir (some air was had!). I sat in the waterfall for about 5 minutes to message my aching, cracking sorry excuse for a spinal chord and then we climbed the water fall to the top and rode on (a few pounds heavier). Gave some rookie riders some possibly bad trail directions (no time to loose).. Took the reservoir fire road for miles and then took gary UP what another new trail. THis was the climb from hell. Heatstroke would have died by now (we decided). At the top gary fended off some very large rottwieliers (CLose CALL!). Ventured off through a boneyard hell area then down to the road. Stopped off at a church on the way home and dissrupted a wedding. Anyway.. back on the road passed lola the runner (N.T.) and then I had my quarter ready but no lemonade stand today ( I was pissed). We pondered doing one more loop at meshomasic on the way home by my knees felt like glass - broken glass (next time though!). Back at the car a guy stuffed his jeep in the mud and tried to help him out - no luck - no rope - no winch - no driving skills, but plenty of beers!. If his girlfriend showed up a little sooner though we could have used her weight on the back wheels - no really that wasn't a dig! They left to get a winch but we were thinking they might just want to get a couple of labotomies. Epic 1 hour a-typical quick ride gary? actually we did it in 2 1/2 hrs ouch! Nice way to redeem yourself - BaSTarD. Next adventure? Salmon River?
