Directions - From Davis, Continue on 32 south
out of town, cross blue bridge and park on left.. Climb up rte 32 on
your free ride bike and suffer for 1.8 miles, look for trailhead on right..
Description - Boney,
knee shattering spinal taping rocky single track embedded with
rhododendrons, roots and quick sand like mudd when its wet.. Some
difficult downhill sections on lindy's run.. All in all the loop was
good, but not great.. There is technical good and technical bad..
This place had a mix of both.. You will get sick of the rocks, they
are annoying at times, much like American standard in PA.. I found
this ride in Joe Surkiewicz book "mid atlantic states series...." His
book describes this ride... Technical difficulty: Beyond category - one
of the hardest trails anywhere.. Well I guess he hasn't been
too many places because I can think of like 65 rides that are more
technical, and of course I don't ride that often.. Ok, my rant is
done.. All in all a good ride, hard trails, very technical, but not
much variety, not much free ride or fun factor, too much road riding before
and after the trail.. I would go back to this area, but most likely
check out the other trails..
Blackwater bikes is right in town on rte 32.. They were very
helpfull and seemed to have a good stock of parts you might need at days
end.. |
