Directions - Take 250 East through Churchville. You will cross the Jennings Branch several times. Look for a sharp right and sign to Braley Pond. Bear left on the dirt road in, then bear left again to park at the parking lot. Braley Pond is mostly for fishing, but I was able to sneak a swim in after the 5hr. ride.

Description -   Follow either trail around to the other side of the pond and you are on a fire road. You will need to bear left once, and then after that you just stay on the main fire road. The fire road climb isnt ecstacy but the downhill is fast. At the end of the fire road, take a right on 250 (pavement) maybe a 1/4 mile or more. Look for a National Forest trail opening on the left side of the road with some reference to "Georgia Camp". Now is the first 1000ft+ climb - about an hour of 1 or 1.5 track ascent, all makable, cut into the side of the mountain, only a couple baby head turns. At the top there is a clearing but stay on the main trail until you get to the gate. Then you lose a couple hundred vertical on a fire road down to 250, but it's all worth it after that. Take the trail to the right of the "Confederate Breastworks". I thought I could see if there were any confederate breasts nearby I could do some work on, but I guess not. From here on, the ride is totally awesome. You have a little climbing to do before you begin the first descent - cool switchbacks, a few jumps, just cruising at Mach I along the side of the mountain. Bring extra brake pads! At the bottom, my friend bailed but I crossed the stream and started the granny1 or granny2 grind up the last 1000 ft climb. At the top, you take a right to descend. I took a left for an out and back on Bald Ridge for a while cause it was cool xc riding. The final descent is also cool, more switchbacks, rocks, views, fun. At the bottom of the descent, you hit the fire road you came up on. Go back to the pond and swim. 5 buckets or 5 hours of confederate breasts for you.
