Description -  All info is thanks to P.A.S.S. & Fuzzy BicycleWorks, (640 east Main, Price, Utah - 435-637-BIKE)..  You can buy a trail map at the bike shop and get the latest and greatest info on the trails..

LUKE'S TRAIL: In Price, Utah Two starting-point options; either park at Pioneer Park (5th north and 1st east) and ride west & "up between the C's", following the jeep road 1 mile to the trail-head -OR- Drive north on 3rd east past C.E.U. and turn left (west) on 9th north. Follow the road as it turns and goes up the dugway to the top. As the road tops-out, turn left and look for a sign on your right..... Luke's Singletrack starts on the north edge of the clearing just north of the fenced-mound. It twists and winds it's way through pinion and juniper trees, cactus and sagebrush and rocks, along cliff edges and ridges. Other than a few wash-crossings, there is little actual climbing, but this trail will require you to pay attention. This is some of the FUNNEST singletrack in the state, and when you stop to look around you'll take in a HUGE view of the Book Cliffs and Manti-La Sal National forest..... When you come to a dirt road, cross it (a few times) and continue. Once you've passed "white-trash point" (you'll know) and the old fence-line, you'll come to the ONE-WAYS. Stay on the right fork and cross another dirt road. A short climb and a left turn, and then another fork. Either go left to the bonus loop and ride luke's back (beware the switch-back on the one-way) or go right and climb a bit more to the end..... From the end of Luke's, you can bomb downhill all the way back to town (south) or ride north 1/4 mile and take Mead's Rim back to town...... A local favorite route is to take Luke's back to White Trash Point and turn left along the power-lines. Follow the lines past the dirt-road and about 1/4 mile to the hard-right turn and take the jeep trail down toward town. A quick left-right zigzag on dirt-roads, then on south to the well-pad. Drop off of the far south-east corner of the pad and rip down the DEVIL'S BACKBONE. This is a downhiller's playground and shouldn't be missed. ... BOMBS AWAY!!!

MEAD'S RIM : The Mead's Rim trail starts from the Kenilworth loop jeep road about 1/4 mile north of the north-end of Luke's Trail. As the jeep road passes to the right of a gas pump-pad, it gets a little rocky and then widens as it turns up-hill. It splits around a bit o' foliage and starts to narrow again.Right Here, there's an opening in the fence to your right which opens to a two-track downhill. YEE-HAH!!..... About 80 yds in, there's a trail to the left with a white rock marker. This is NOT Mead's Rim. Keep going down the two-track 'till you come to a small meadow..... The bike trail curls around left and up onto the ridge-line through the trees. From here-on it's technical singletrack and doubletrack downhill through trees and clifflines. Be on your game through here, kids, 'cause if you're taking-in the views in motion you could have quite a fall. After passing through some guy-wires and more twists & turns you'll come to a gnarly drop into a STEEP little spine. Stop and drop yer seats!! There is no shame in walking some or all of this part. Only one or two people have ridden it through. Another short section of singletrack across a wash and along the hillside and you come to a grated dirt road. This is the end of Mead's Rim trail..... You can climb the hill to your right and go down the DEVIL'S BACKBONE spine trail south, OR take the road left and turn right onto the two-track road south to the baseball fields and town.

Dead Dog LOOP.. TWO START-POINT OPTIONS: Either start from Toy Atwood Baseball complex on the north-end of 1100 east in Price, and head east on the two-track and up-around the H2O tank OR Drive east on 800 north to the end of the pavement, turn left (north) and follow the dirt-road up-around the H2O tank .....Follow the dirt road past the big tin shed with the big fans. About 150 yds farther on your right there's a big square rock and a little yellow circle; if you're driving, park around here.....................From here go north another 1/2 mile or so to the fork in the road. go right and after a left-right-left and a hard right and take "WILD-BUNCH WASH", a fast, technical singletrack along a creek, OR stay left at the fork and go another 1+ miles 'till you pass a well-pump above you on your left. Take the next right and cruise about 250 yds to the next pump-pad and "UPPER WILDBUNCH" starts on the east edgeof the pad, a FAST singletrack running down to and through the WASH. At the bottem of this run, you'll climb up the double-track to your right (west) to a gate. Go over or close it behind you. A bit past the gate is a short section of singletrack to your left, which puts you out onto a dirt road east...................Follow the dirt-road as it winds along the foot of the mesa for about 1/8 mile and take the left fork. As you curve-around right, a small square "headstone" on your left marks entry to BEN'S SWITCH-BACKS, one of the tougher climbs around; tight, winding singletrack through trees & rocks & roots and on VERY exposed switch-back turns. SWEET!!......................At the top of the switchbacks, stop & breathe & look-around at the Book-Cliffs,the Manti-La Sal forest, and the San Refeal Swell, then head north about 80 yds and drop into the singletrack to the left just before the big pump. This winds along and down into BRUCE'S CREVASE, a tight, gnarly wash- crossing, and back up into DUSTY'S DETOUR. This part just keeps getting better with big rocks and logs to ride (or fall off of). You come out onto another pump-pad and cross to the dirt road, turning right at the "T". In a minute, you'll come to a cattle guard, and the singletrack drops in about 10 feet past it on your left. In this section is TRENT'S ROCK (you'll know when you see it). ....................Now you drop down to the south down a short, steep face and onto the DEAD-DOG SPINE.<<<WARNING: ONLY!! EXPERTS>>>...THis spine is EXPOSED and TECHNICAL. Narrow BRIDGE sections across the DEAD DOG ROCKS are not to be taken lightly!! After the D.D. rocks the spine continues south and onto the south mesa. The singletrack skirts the edge around the whole mesa, finally droping into a FAST downhill with a few "artificial' options, back down to the valley floor........................Across one more pump-pad, out the dirt-road, and 1/4 mile back to the square-rock / yellow circle parking spot., then it's downhill back to town.................................Allow for 2-4 hours if you're an animal, 3-5 if you're human, and plan accordingly. This one's a butt kicker!
