Directions - To get to the pagoda parking
area, just google " Duryea Drive, Reading, PA" Description - This area has been on my "hitlist" for way too long due to lack of information, map, gps etc, etc... Found a few gps tracks to entice me along with some general descriptions of free-ridey-ness.. We parked at the pagoda as it seemed like a good mid point on the hill, after driving up to the top and spotting some trail entrances. Amazing view from the top! Pedaled up to the first Limey trail and we were immediately greeted with some nice rock lines and natural drops. Trail split many times and in general the trails were fall line, but not super steep. Headed back up and ventured / meandered to the towers. So many trails, limey, red, orange, unmarked, etc.. There seems to be a fire road trail that traverses the middle and provides a good escape route! Once at the top there were a few no-bikes signs but only on one short section of trail. Saw a few guys shuttling, wich seems to be the way to go, but pedaling this area is not that bad.. The lime green trail that parallels the road was really nice, rocky, singletrack with a few jumps that ended on the circles in the pavement which I assume is a UFO landing area.. Onward - some sort of B-line trail was pretty nice with moderate stuff. Ill definitely be back for more - Make sure and check out the talking garbage cans on top - Too funny.. Loops - |
